Valued as the world’s second-richest man with a net worth of $166 billion, Elon Musk’s primary home is not some big, fancy mansion we all know he can afford. Instead, he lives in a $50,000 tiny home in c, near SpaceX’s development and test site. Musk tweeted in June that he had sold most of his real estate assets and the tiny home was his primary residence.
WHAT’S INSIDE THE $50K FOLDING HOUSE OF ELON MUSK – THE MOST BRILLIANT BILLIONAIRE?
Tesla boss and SpaceX CEO vvv on Monday announced that he’s finally made the decision to sell the last remaining house he owned. Musk’s decision doesn’t come out of the blue – last week, Musk had announced on Twitter that at the moment he owns only one house in the San Francisco Bay area that is rented out for events and that if he sold, it ‘would see less use, unless bought by a big family, which might happen someday.’ Musk’s decision to sell the house also arises from the fact that a ProPublica report last week pointed out that American billionaires like Musk, Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, and more barely ever pay their correct share of taxes, and sometimes pay close to nothing at all. The analysis itself, showed that America’s richest executives paid just a fraction of their wealth in taxes when their collective net worth kept increasing.

The Pro Publica report said that “In 2018, Tesla founder Elon Musk, the second-richest person in the world, paid no federal income taxes.”
Musk may not need a home on Earth for much longer – he has multi-planetary plans anyway, including sending humans to Mars by 2026.
As a billionaire, Elon Musk would live in super-duper expensive houses. But he chose to sell off all of his mansions to move into a mysterious little house worth just $50,000. Then the designer of this house must be so talented that Musk is extremely eager to live in it.
SO WHO BUILT AND DESIGNED THE HOUSE FOR ELON MUSK?
With Tesla shares skyrocketing by more than 500% over the last year alone, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has seen his fortune soar. According to recent estimates, the mercurial tech visionary, and crypto enthusiast, is now worth nearly $170 billion. In light of that, you might be surprised to learn that Elon Musk’s house in Starbase, Texas isn’t a sprawling mansion. Rather, Musk’s house is a mass-produced 20-foot by 20-foot box. That’s right, Musk is now living in what is essentially a 400 square foot studio.

  1. Why waste head space on property, that time/dissatisfaction equation is a much bigger deal when your saving humanity. When you have to think all day , to relax, live in a box you don't have to think about, makes complete sense.

  2. Good informative video on Boxable homes. They are very cool. That said I wish people would stop saying billionaires don’t pay there fair share and make it seam like they are the villains. If you want them to pay more than change the tax code and quit blaming them! Most people like my self who own homes and have a business use a CPA to do their taxes. The CPA’s job is to minimize the amount of taxes by using deductions the Goverment approves of. I can pretty much guarantee no one has said after figuring out how much taxes “ oh that’s not enough tax I should pay”.

  3. I think there are a number of reasons he’s doing this. Firstly, he’s quite comfortable sleeping on a couch in the office when work gets crazy so small, unluxurious places to sleep aren’t a problem for him. The main reason though is I think he is trying to figure out the liveability of something like this for people living on Mars. If he can cope with it over an extended period, then I reckon that will give him confidence that it could work for Settlers on Mars.

  4. He always working and traveling, why have an expensive house with huge property taxes when you can just camp in style.

  5. i like the idea of this "modul-houses". Specially 2 or 3 modules combined…(Image of a garage!)
But I wonder how long they can last and how "hurricane-prooved" they are ( I guess they are not everywhere such a good Idea – What do you think?)

  6. There's no reason why Elon Musk should pay Federal income tax. He receives no income from Tesla or SpaceX. If he ever sells shares that he owns in these companies, he would likely owe capital gains tax but the US Government currently has way of taxing wealth – only income and cap gains.

  7. Why,…?
Because the guy works his ass off.
Who gives a sh+t about having a big empty house(s)),… he’s got his mind on much much greater things for the “people of earth”.
Much like Trump,… he’s getting it FUCKING done!
If we had to wait for NASA, we’d be long dead and buried.
    Go get em tiger. 🙂

  8. Not his wife and kids. Trying to dupe people into thinking this is the future they should like and want a small house. Piss off Elon

  9. My guess; Elon's crew is testing the modular home box units to see if, for future development, it is compatible to place in his rocket and to be able to extract them on the moon surface and then after on the Mars surface areas.
