All about Atlas

  1. ULA should try the Aerojet engines with thrust augmentation. The Vulcan is small enough to use the Falcon method of landing. That could be a Falcon 9 competition with more payload. And imagine a Vulcan heavy with three or more cores.

  2. Vulcan Centaur would be better and more competitive if the first stage was reusable. And of course, ULA needs a real engine.

  3. I feel Atlas and Vulcan have a bigger advantage over SpaceX now due to the high energy Centaur stage making ULA much more suitable for GEO , BLEO missions , Atlas 5XX series and Vulcan too have bigger fairings making it more advantageous.

  4. not a fair shake..?/ hahahaha you need some mental tune ups….what is the matter with your cognition?
too much bezos….( short for poorly build crap ) Get with the program, get behind Elon and let bezos and the big corps go down with the ship.

  5. Blue Origin is like Cloud Imperium — both are proverbial VAPOR WARE COMPANIES expert at spending a lot of money over a long period of time to produce exactly JACK SHIT.

  6. CO2 MAY OR MAY NOT EXIST ON THE MOON, WE JUST DON'T KNOW, BUT IF IT DOSE, THE METH/LOX ENGINE WILL BE KING, AT LEAST FOR THE SHORT TERM UNTIL WE DEVELOP BETTER STORAGE FOR HYDROGEN.

  7. I couldn't disagree more with the assertion that until the successful landing of the Falcon 9 there was no reason to think anything would be any different…
The writing was on the wall WAY before that successful landing.
I wish ULA would have taken reusability more seriously. Their solution seems half hearted to save face. They were betting on Spacex to fail… and they didn't.
I used to be a fan of Blue Origin too, but man Bezos Sucks. He's trying to drag the whole industry down with him.

  8. The fact that rockets returning to land and landing upright has remained a "work of science fiction" only to become reality not by the current major players in the rocket industry like ULA, but spearheaded by start-ups with no rocket experience at all using commercially available tech (at least early on) and non-fancy guidance should tell anyone that Boeing and Lockheed have not been innovating for a long time. The Atlas V should have been re-usable from it's origin, it wasn't. ULA's re-usable rocket plans are a just catching up to SpaceX and BO. Leaders in industry lead trends, they don't follow them. Imagine what SpaceX or BO could do with the funds given each year to ULA?

  9. ,…because there was no one else,…and ULA,…is Boeing/Lockheed,…starliner was put together with ad hock parts from the back lot,….why, because that's worked in the past,…they still think SpaceX is a fad that won't last. Maybe after SpaceX lands on Moon/Mars ULA will wake up! ULA has great concepts they could fly,…question is,…will they? Maybe SpaceX will make it possible!

  10. Elon Musk/SpaceX,…have & will develop human system regardless of NASA funding,…Bezos/Blue Origin could simply do the same,…why aren't they,..what "ARE" they doing,…besides flying a model rocket out back,…anything?,… Bezos has the money,….Bezos could simple openly compete,…SpaceX is openly pushing the envelope every minute of every day,…you can watch it on YouTube,…not so with Blue. If I had Bezos's financial resources I'd be down the beach building shit up in Elons face (no offence to Elon ) for the whole world to see.

You can't tell me if Bezos was showing the same openly aggressive attitude toward space development money and investor enthusiasm wouldn't be flooding his way!

  11. I'm not really deep into this. The only thing I've heard about ULA is, that they use their kind of contracts to squeeze any last penny out of their customers through to 'additional costs' bills, to maximize their profits.

And that's a philosophy I will not support in any way !!!

  12. henceforth Jeff Bezos will be known as Jeff Suezos if he put the same amount of energy he does with his lawsuits Blue Origin would be on par with Space X. Jeff step your game up Musk is lapping you.

  13. Why is developing a new fairing so costly? Its basically just a new form for an existing element.

  14. I have a hunch that the RJ/AD alternative that was proposed when BE-4 was accepted may be farther along in development than has been let on. Especially with them planning to continue to use the RL-10, and Lockheed acquiring AJ, I could see them regretting an alliance with the bald bastard, and having another engine in the wings. That, or blue origin is in more shit than we've been told, and is about to be sold off, at least in part, with the engines going to ULA.

  15. Thought Amazon did overnight delivery 😂😂😂 come on Jeff !!! Get the man his engines!!! I like ULA and Tory Bruno !! But come on JEFF. Sort it out son or Tory gonna bitch 👋 ya
