Today we will follow the attempt to launch the Falcon 9 rocket with the Starlink 28 mission that will take 60 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for the provision of high-speed, low-latency internet on a global scale. The booster used in this mission is the B1063.2. This booster flew previously on the Sentinel-6 missions Michael Freilich SpaceX will attempt to recover the hoods for this mission. One was used in 4 Starlink missions and the other in a Starlink mission and the Transporter-1 mission. The Falcon 9 is a medium to large capacity orbital rocket, partially reusable and composed of two stages. It is 70 meters high and 3.7 meters in diameter. Its load capacity is 22.8 t for low earth orbit (LEO) in disposable mode and 15.6 t in reusable mode. The load capacity for geostationary / geosynchronous transfer orbits is 8.3 t and for the Martian transfer orbit it is 4 t (never attempted). The booster contains 9 Merlin 1D + engines optimized for sea level generating 7,607 kN of thrust, while the second stage has 1 Merlin 1D + engine optimized for vacuum generating 934 kN of thrust. Both stages are powered by RP-1 (rocket kerosene) and LOX (liquid oxygen). Follow me on Twitter: twitter.com/pallottapedro Instagram: instagram.com/pedropallotta.
