See the SpaceX Crew-1 successfully board the the International space platform . The crew consists of Crew Dragon Commander Michael Hopkins, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Shannon Walker, all of NASA, along side JAXA Mission Specialist Soichi Noguchi. The crew is on a six-month science mission.
SpaceX will dock with the International space platform for the second time with their Crew Dragon capsule carrying 4 astronauts. The docking procedures and hatch opening are going to be preceded by variety of phasing and approach burns on the Crew Dragon capsule to finish the docking autonomously.
SpaceX launched the primary operational mission of its Crew Dragon vehicle as a part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Transportation Capability Program (CCtCap), carrying three NASA astronauts and one JAXA astronaut to the International space platform . This mission is that the second crewed flight to launch from the us since the top of the spacecraft program in 2011. In May 2020, DM-2 demonstrated the Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon’s ability to securely transport crew to the space platform and back to Earth and was the last major milestone for certification of Crew Dragon. This NASA mission is predicted to last around six months and therefore the astronauts will return around April 2021. .
