The ultimate goal of my Conquering Kerbal Space Program series is to put a fully 100% self-sufficient base (closed-loop) on the surface of every planet in the stock solar system (orbital station on gas giant). We’re running with USI Life Support and Remote Tech as well, to spice up the difficulty here.

We’re utilizing different classes for Kerbals than what stock KSP offers. You can find details on all Kerbal jobs/classes available at this page:

  1. I understand that you don't like the USI hab/home timer, but I think it is very realistic and there are ways to make sure you don't have to rotate out crew every-so-often. If you think about it, spending forever away from the place you're from (until the planet is colonized enough) can have a large psychological impact on you which would affect the productivity. Try reading the wiki page on Habitation, it really helped me understand and use it (I was like you at first and thought it was very dumb).

  2. The best way to set up N equispaced sats is to decellerate with the mothership until you have an elliptical orbit with a period of (N-1)/N* the period of the target circular orbit. Then everytime your mothership passes apoapsis you release a small sat, circularize its orbit and you have your network up and running. This takes a little more fuel but leaves you with perfectly placed sats in almost no time. Depending on the body and your target orbit, you might have to run with (N+1)/N.

  3. I want to be a kerbal so I can do crazy stunts as well lol. Great episode Charlie, keep up the good work

  4. Great episode, I loved it! Especially the nice little physics shenanigans there lol. Can't wait for more! 🙂

  5. Good vid Char, Glad you pruned back that habitation stuff, Like you said I don't see the point to it just a big pain

  6. When you reach 5 dead Kerbals, you could send up a probe in their honor, hopefully you don't have to though, but if that happens, you could for every 5+, and so that you won't waste money, the probe description should have their names in it, and the probe can compleat a contract so the probe won't go to waste
Also, you should play "take on Mars"

  7. that was awesome boss ive bin excited for this to come out btw you ever thought about doing a subnautica series?

  8. I feel your pain with the jumping base modules on minmus. I recently found out that the duna and pioneer modules have a ground tether that keeps them much more stable. There's also a cradle module available, tho all of this is in 1.3.

  9. Getting out from an university exam and find a KSP episode is sooo good. Thank you Charlie! I have so much to study that I haven't been playing KSP for a month or two, at least I can enjoy watching you playing it. Keep going man! 😉

  10. hye i have an idea, build a launch pad on minmus a launch missions from there by doing this you can save lot of fuel and cost, exactly what nasa is planing, building base on moon and launch missions from there
