🚀 What really caused this mishap?

Elon Musk just encountered a huge problem. SpaceX is reporting that 80% of the satellites it launched in the first week of February are expected to burn up instead of reaching their intended location in space. The company sent 49 satellites to bolster the range of its Starlink project but up to 40 of the satellites won’t serve this purpose. Elon Musk and SpaceX have some serious challenges in front of them. Starlink is very much important to Elon Musk and his aerospace organization.

Thursday 4th of February 2022 will always be remembered by Elon Musk and SpaceX. Nobody was expecting what really happened that day. Everybody in SpaceX woke up just like every other day. SpaceX launched the 49 satellites a day before that very date from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida into low Earth orbit. 80% of the satellites failed to reach their destination. Recently, Elon Musk’s company just recently crossed the 2000 satellite launch milestone and they still have plans to launch many more. SpaceX actually applied for permission from the FCC to launch as many as 42,000 satellites into orbit.

At 1:13 p.m. on the 3rd of February, Falcon 9 rocket launched 49 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The second stage of the rocket deployed the satellites into their intended orbit, with a perigee of approximately 210 kilometers above Earth, and each satellite achieved controlled flight. A perigee is a point in an orbit about any planet that is closest to the planet, in this case, planet Earth. The company deployed its satellites into the lower orbit so that when worse comes to worst if any satellite does not pass initial system checkouts it will quickly be deorbited by atmospheric drag. It’s a great precaution taken by the company. Though launching into the low deployment altitude requires more capable satellites. It takes a lot of initiative to do this and it is the best thing to do to maintain a sustainable space environment.
